CoveBot

CoveBot is the crawler for Cove, a job search service. It reads public job listings from employer career sites and applicant-tracking-system job boards, so job seekers can find openings and apply directly to the employer.

What CoveBot does

• Reads only public job listings. It never logs in, never submits forms, and never solves CAPTCHAs or other challenges.
• Obeys robots.txt. To stop CoveBot, add User-agent: CoveBot and Disallow: /.
• Paces itself per site, and backs off on errors and Retry-After.
• Sends traffic from a small set of fixed, long-lived IP addresses. It never rotates addresses to get around a block.
• If your site blocks or challenges CoveBot, it stops and a person reviews the source.
